I have had a bow since I was 7, but never practiced enough to feel comfortable taking the "stick and string" into the woods hunting.  I would fling arrows in to the bale a few times each summer, and get a little bit of a fever for archery, but never pursued it.  Three years ago, I decided I wanted to bow hunt.  So I purchased a bow, and after it was finally set up for me I began shooting at the range.  I learned to use a release, peep sight and pins, and enjoyed the accuracy I was getting with the set up.  A month later, I found a Black Eagle.  When I saw the bow, I was instantly taken back to the first time I saw an Oneida (Screamin' Eagle) in 1987.  I remembered how that SE sprung into action, as it came to full draw, and the power it generated upon impact with the target.  That was all it took, and the BE was mine.   Since then my collection of Oneida's have grown.  I currently hunt with a BE ESC, shoot combatively with my Zebra Pro Eagle, and have a customized Strike Eagle that I shoot fingers and plan to use for small game hunting this fall.

For me, the best thing about shooting an Oneida, is the extended family that comes with it.  I have built several friendships that will last a lifetime since I have been here, and will continue to build new one's in the future.  As you are checking out the CPO web site, be sure to stop by the forum, and take a look at the fun we have there.   I think you will be amazed by the willingness to help, the wealth of information that these guys have, and the comraderie that we all have there.  I hope to see you there.

Hello, my name is Gene Glasgow.  I've been hunting since the age of 18 and now at the age of 46 I've found that the Oneida bow gives me the most bang for my buck!  I've used an Oneida bow since 1989 and became a Staff shooter in 1998.
I've enjoyed shooting many tournaments for the Oneida Company and hope to be competing in many more tournaments in the future.  It is enjoyable to see some of the looks I get from young and old archers when they see my bow for the first time.  When I explain to them how it works and some of the changes made to the newer models, most of them then understand the fun of not having to work on them more then you are able to shoot them.
However, I have taken 4 nice bucks, 3 of which has made Pope & Young and a couple does since owning an Oneida bow.  A good example of how powerful an Oneida bow can be is with the last buck I shot.  My 60# BE ESC passed the arrow completely thru the backside of the ribs and out the brisket at 20yds. on a hard quarter.  So far all of the deer I have shot with an Oneida has been pass thru's actually.  I enjoy many different types of hunting, but whitetail's have been and always will be my favorite kind of game to hunt.

Richard Vance/5150 4 Boar ~ St Petersburg Florida.

Most of you from the Oneida forum world know me as 5150 4 BOAR (Stealth Insane). My name is Richard Vance & at 46 years of age, have been shooting bows in more states then most can name.
Took my 1st & only deer in Spokane WA but Hog's are ALL I desire to hunt now. Picked up a Strike Eagle right after Ted Nugent made the Whackmaster so popular. After several Strikes, had the great fortune of picking up the greatest finger shooting bow ever made (AF X-80) w/Timberdoodle arrow rest. Many thanks go out to my 2 good friends, Mikie Day & Jeff Blank for the Introduction to the Stealth, Matt & Will for standing beside me on some consider the least desirable Oneida.

Thanks to ALL the Forum members who have helped me along the way & of course the Pollington's, who took a chance with me.

Jeff Bentz ~ Nekoosa, Wisconsin.

My wife thinks I'm obsessed with bow hunting, yeah maybe a little but I feel like I'm finally getting it perfected.

I have worked very hard to take 28 book whitetail's. I do not hunt or own private trophy land, all my hunting is on public lands in 4 states and what I find by knocking on a lot of doors.

I have been bow hunting since I was 12 back in 1967 when I shot my first spike buck with a recurve. Since then I have shot hundreds of deer but have only seriously trophy hunted the last 18years.

I have been an Oneida staff shooter for 4 years, I work several shows a year for the company and have a ball doing it. I bought my first Oneida in 1984 and I still have it .Since 1984, I have shot for most every bow company out there and I have to say, I never stuck with a bow for more than one season, I've always come back to my Oneida where I will stay.

My reason for always coming back to the Oneida was simple, NO other bow every penetrated animals like the Oneida. As a serious trophy hunter I need equipment that does the job. When I finally get a shot at a trophy I want to be able blow thru that animal no matter what the angle, ONLY an Oneida can do that.

My list of reasons to shoot an Oneida are:

  1. I can draw 5-10 lbs more than any other bow due to the super smooth easy draw curve of the bow.
  2. The bow is impossible to torque due to everything on the bow being centered on both sides of the string
  3. With the wide assortment of modules sent with the bow, I can tailor those modules to give me exactly the % let off I want and the point of cam-over I want.
  4. Draw stops
  5. No harsh cam-over, this is the smoothest drawing bow in the world.
  6. Annual maintenance. Every 5-6000 shots, new string and two cables, 30.00, compare that to today's bows.
  7. Penetration power. Because of the Oneida's smooth draw curve, the power stroke is from let go to finish and energy is transferred smoothly to the arrow resulting in greater arrow speed without arrow whip. These bows simply blow thru bone with ease.

My trophy hunting is always going to new levels, I have lost great animals due to poor performance of other bows, I cannot afford for that to happen, therefore only an Oneida will make the grade.

Art Champoux

I shot Oneida in the 1980's. I harvested boar, dear, small game, fox and some great target shots with my old Oneida. Now after shooting other brands I am coming home to C.P. Oneida Eagle Bows. Why? Because the feel, the smoothness and shoot ability of a recurve with the speed of a high quality compound. Oneida... unsurpassable in its class!!!

Tim Litten

I've been hunting all my life and I started shooting Oneida's in the early 80's with the Screaming Eagle. I have been shooting Oneida's ever since and I've always helped other people with their equipment choice and repairs. I guess that's how I became a dealer here in Arizona and I enjoy helping others get their first Oneida Eagle Bow. We have been fortunate to sell the Oneida Bows to hunters all over the world and meet some really nice people thru our web site at www.newarcheryequipment.com, we have sent bows to France, Australia, Germany, Canada, Mexico and across the states.  I never imagined that I would run into so many Oneida Eagle fans in other countries. Hopefully I'll land a hunt over sea's one day. I have mainly hunted in the southwest and have taken Buffalo, Elk, Mule Deer, Javalina and Turkey with Oneida. I currently shoot the Extreme and the BE2.

His first slam was with gun and bow, but his second was all with an Oneida Black Eagle Bow, and at eye level.

Some of you may know me as "Quarup" on the Oneida forum. My name is Luis and I live in Brazil. I started shooting Oneidas in 1990 - my first bow was a Screaming Eagle - SE 600 - bought when I was 16 years old. Stange story... I read about these bows in a magazine in 1986, when I was 14 and it was “love at first sight”! Back then I imagined I would never get a chance to shoot, let alone own one. Well... What did I know? At 16, went to Canada on an Exchange Studant Programme and my PE Teacher, at archery class had one of his own and another for sale... I bought it before I asked the price!

From then on I never wanted any other kind of bow. Oneidas are fast, forgiving, accurate, smooth like no other AND great looking! Once I learned about these qualities, I knew for a fact that everything the competition says about Oneidas is myth. These bows stand out in the crowd because they are beautifull, high quality and everlasting.
